one month til shop opening!

I wanted to give you a mini update about the upcoming opening of the Patchwork Harmony online boutique!
I have now got the majority of my stock and am shooting the photography next week, which I am really excited about.....

this is roughly how the site is going to look, although the picture will change once we have photographed my products.

The categories are Living, Kitchen, Bathroom, Garden and Vintage, and the products are a mix of carefully selected homewares from suppliers, items from individual designers and vintage bits and bobs.

Here's some hints to what you will find on the website.... beautiful vintage style bunting, handmade crochet cushions, jam jar scented candles, pretty soaps and peg bags made from vintage linen....

I will keep you updated over the coming month, and I hope you will be excited as I am about the grand opening! :)

Kitchen dreams....

I can't believe I am even dreaming about picking out kitchens now! but is it just me or is there just too much choice?! If we do end up firstly, finding a house, and then getting to fit our own kitchen, I'm not sure if I am ever going to be able to make decisions on what to go for!
I've collected up some pics for inspiration and there does seem to be a similar theme running through....  but still... colours, doors, tiles, freestanding, fitted, appliances, blinds, curtains..... argh!

style in the study

As we have recently begun our first ever hunt for a home of our own, I have to admit it is hard to keep focussed on practical issues while all I can think about is furniture, fabrics and paint colours!
But where better to indulge my dreams than on my blog! I am especially excited about the prospect of having my very own study, which is definitely needed as the stock for the soon to open Patchwork Harmony boutique rolls in!!
I am comfortable with the fact there will mostly be boxes upon boxes piling up in this room, but I plan to have at least the corner by the window looking pretty!!
perhaps a french writing desk.....

from Vintage Living - £325

with a Gainsborough chair....

mousemats can generally be pretty horrid, but I am loving this little beauty! :)

Vintage Home - £5.99

And some gorgeous box files from Cath Kidston
Some more inspiration from Housetohome ....

its chilly outside, and in.... the retro fridge

there are lots of things that we want but can't afford, and one of mine is definitely a Smeg fridge... they have to be the ultimate in fridge aesthetics... could a white goods item be more beautiful!?

pic from Bazaar Style book

but when retailing at around £800 upwards, I thought I would check out some of the cheaper alternatives.... while I'm not sure if I could settle for a non-Smeg, i thought it wise to have a look.... which do you think is the next best thing?

Gorenje - approx £550 -650 - buy here

Baumatic - £499 - buy here

Or if you're in America and have more than enough cash to splash on a fridge it has got to be a Big Chill.....

from $2695 - buy here

Or perhaps I will just have to hit Ebay for that second hand Smeg...!! xxx

perfectly pretty pin dishes!

last weekend I was off sourcing some items for my ebay shop, and the upcoming Patchwork Harmony boutique! I currently have a new obsession which takes the form of china pin dishes as they're called... I think they are perfect for all your little trinkets and small bits of jewellery, and add a gorgeous vintage feel to your dressing or bedside table... here are a few I now have for sale on ebay, let me know what you think... is the pin dish in?
